How do I share my child's profile with a caregiver?

Open the Sharing tab, tap the + button, and enter the caregiver's name and role (teacher, sitter, family, therapist, etc.). You'll be asked which sections to share and whether to include their notes in your Circle. They'll get a secure invite link to create a free caregiver account.

You can revoke access at any time from the same tab — the link stops working immediately.

Can I control what each caregiver sees?

Yes. Sharing is per-section, per-caregiver. The babysitter can see "Foods" and "What Calms Me" without seeing medical history. The teacher can see communication and routines. You decide every time.

What is "Ask the Circle"?

Ask the Circle is an AI-powered support feature that answers your questions about your child by drawing on the profile and observations you've recorded. It's designed to think like a thoughtful friend who happens to have training in child psychology, behavior, and family support.

It is not a replacement for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult qualified providers for clinical questions.

What data is sent when I use Ask the Circle?

The first time you tap Ask the Circle, the app shows a consent screen that lists exactly what gets sent and to whom. In short: your question, your child's first name and basic profile data, and your recent observations are sent to Anthropic, PBC (the operator of the Claude AI API) to generate a response. Your name, email, and payment information are never sent. You can revoke this consent at any time in Settings.

Is Know My Child a paid app?

Version 1.0 is completely free. No subscription, no ads, no in-app purchases. We may introduce optional premium features in a future version — if and when we do, they'll be sold through Apple's standard In-App Purchase system, and the core features will stay free.

How do I export or print my child's profile?

Open Settings → Export Profile PDF. Pick which sections to include, tap Export, and you'll get a beautifully formatted PDF you can text, email, AirDrop, or print. Perfect for the new sitter, a substitute teacher, or an ER intake form.

Is my child's data safe?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Row-level security policies ensure no one but you and the caregivers you've authorized can read your data. We never sell, rent, or trade personal information. The full privacy policy spells out everything.

How do I delete my account and all data?

Open Settings → Delete Account and confirm. All personal data, child profiles, observations, and shared records are permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days. If you'd prefer to email us instead, write to support@knowmychild.app.

Which devices does the app run on?

Know My Child runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 16 or later. Android support is on the roadmap.
