The story behind Know My Child.

I've spent my career as a school psychologist protecting and advocating for children — especially those with special needs. In schools, we build systems around them: data, documentation, communication, and intervention plans. When something is off, we catch it. We respond. We support.

But I kept seeing a different reality outside of school.

When a parent drops their child off at a church daycare, a gym childcare center, or with a babysitter — those systems disappear. There's no structured documentation. No consistent communication. No shared understanding of what a child needs in the moment.

And that gap matters. Because the same level of awareness, communication, and early intervention that helps children succeed in school is often missing in the everyday environments where they spend so much of their time.

The other gap most people don't see

Even inside schools and daycares, parents are often on the outside looking in — receiving delayed updates, limited context, and little ability to actively shape what's happening with their child in real time.

As both a psychologist and a parent, I couldn't ignore that.

Know My Child was created to do more than extend support beyond school. It was built to put the power back into the hands of parents.

Whether it's a trip to the zoo, a visit to a museum, or a new environment, the app provides guidance — what to prepare for, what to bring, what to avoid, and how to set the child up for success based on their unique needs and patterns.

It's a system that connects school, home, and the real world — so every adult in a child's life is informed, aligned, and equipped to support them in the moment and plan for what comes next.
